GLEE creator Ryan Murphy says he expects some of the stars of his hit music show to leave at the end of 2012.
"Every year we’re going to populate a new group," Murphy says. "There's nothing more depressing than a high schooler with a bald spot.
Murphy has nominated the end of the 2012 season of Glee as the likely time for cast exits.
Murphy admits to angst about any core cast leaving.
Stars including Lea Michelle, Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer and Kevin McHale have all sprung to worldwide fame playing Glee students.
"I think you have to be true to the fact that here is a group of people who come and go in these teachers' lives – they graduate and they're gone," Murphy says.
"When some of them finish their run at high school it will be very teary episodes.
"For me it will be particularly tough but a new crop (of actors) will come in."
Glee has been averaging around 12 million viewers in the USA and around 1.3 million in Australia but you would expect that figure to rise significantly for any "farewell" episodes.
Murphy says that he discussed 'graduating' core cast with Glee co-executive producer Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk.
"I was concerned about that (whether to have characters graduate and leave the show) because those kids caught on so quickly – but I think one of the things I'm very happy we’ve been able to do this years is we’ve brought in new characters."
"I think if you can keep regenerating – and I didn’t think we could – I didn’t know if people would want those characters (like Sam) but they do."

Glee's Emmy News From TV Guide
Someone asked Matt Roush about the Emmy process regarding Glee, Chris and Jane.
Question: I'm sure you get sick to death of questions about the Emmy process, but I just have to ask this one. When a show doesn't fit completely in one box or the other, when it has equal proportions comedy and drama, do all of its stars have to necessarily go into the same category? I'm thinking mostly of Glee. It puts itself in the comedy category, and no one would argue that Jane Lynch is the most deserving of all actresses out there for the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy award. But Chris Colfer is amazing, truly one for the ages. His performance in "Never Been Kissed" was phenomenal, transcendent, and definitely should be rewarded with an Emmy. But not for comedy. Glee brings so many different things to the table, why can't its stars nominate themselves in the category in which they fit best? Jane Lynch stays in comedy, Chris Colfer nominates himself in drama. I know it's probably never been done before, but is there any reason why it can't be? Not a fan of the status quo. — Melissa
Matt Roush: I don't know if there's a rule that an actor doing fine dramatic work in a show otherwise classified as a comedy would be forbidden to submit said work in the proper drama category. But perceptually, it probably would be advised against at the network and studio level. These comedy-drama (and in this case, musical) hybrids have it tough enough without adding more confusion. And while I agree with the gist of your argument, especially given the seriousness of the bullying storyline Kurt is currently embroiled in, I also wonder if the solid emotional work Chris Colfer is doing this season might actually boost his chances against fellow comic actors. Whereas putting a flamboyant character like this in the running against supporting drama players in terrific ensembles like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Good Wife and Boardwalk Empire could just as easily backfire. No perfect solution, that's for sure. But if Colfer were to submit for drama, the choice would likely be seen as bold and controversial enough to raise his visibility if not viability.

Dianna Agron 'Sparks Engagement Rumors'
Dianna Agron has fuelled rumors that she is planning to marry boyfriend Alex Pettyfer after being photographed with a diamond ring on her engagement finger.
The pair - who began dating in August after meeting on the set of I Am Number Four - were in London last week when the Glee actress was spotted with the jewellery.
A source told WENN: "She seemed to find it amusing but was clearly keen for the photographer not to get too many pictures of the ring she was wearing."
Agron has not responded to the reports.

Darren Criss on Extra, Performs 'Teenage Dream' and 'Part of that world'
Darren was Extra this morning and he performed his hit cover songs.
Ranking the Best Guest Stars
15. OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN
She may have a ridiculous accent, but she helped Sue Sylvester land a spot among the Top 700 recording artists. Their remake of Newton-John's iconic and campy music video ''Physical'' was not quite on a par with Sue's ''Vogue,'' but it was another brush with fame Sylvester can tell her frightened subjects about.
14. CHEYENNE JACKSON
New Vocal Adrenaline coach Dustin Goolsby was mysterious yet conniving (he swooped up newcomer Sunshine Corazon from New Directions in the season 2 premiere). We're still holding out for Will's revenge and a good Vocal Adrenaline-New Directions showdown, but in the meantime, we wouldn't mind seeing the Broadway veteran perform.
13. EVE
As Jane Addams Academy's choir director Grace Hitchens, Eve was a fierce competitor who preached the benefits of ''hairography.'' She wasn't the most honorable coach, encouraging her students to cheat to get ahead, but she's good to have around in case of pickpockets.
12. JOHN LLOYD YOUNG
We still don't know why this Tony Award-winning actor (Jersey Boys) wasn't invited to sing during his one episode appearance, but as cough-medicine-addicted shop teacher Henri St. Pierre, Young brought enough quirkiness to the early episode to help establish Glee's unique comedic voice.
11. JOSH GROBAN
Groban was grouchy, self-absorbed, spoke in the third person, and flirted with Will's mom (Josh Groban loves a blousy alcoholic…). Both season 1 appearances were the opposite of what you'd expect from the singer, which made them totally enjoyable.
10. MOLLY SHANNON
Unfortunately, we didn't get to hear her sing, but as new astronomy teacher (and recovering show choir addict) Brenda Castle, Shannon has been the only person who has really managed to put a wrinkle in Sue Sylvester's perfectly ironed tracksuits.
9. BRITNEY SPEARS
Britney Spears as herself, in Brittany S. Pierce's anesthesia-induced fantasy? Yes, please.
8. JOHN STAMOS
Dr. Carl Howell managed to break down several of Emma's walls, and as a Rocky Horror enthusiast, he reminded us of that sweet voice we've been missing since Jesse and the Rippers disappeared from our lives.
7. CHARICE
The tiny powerhouse is perhaps the one age-appropriate rival who makes Rachel Berry nervous (which is why Dame Berry sent her to a crack house instead of the choir room). As exchange student Sunshine Corazon, she added another ballad to the New Directions repertoire with a powerful version of ''Listen'' that was so impressive, it caused Vocal Adrenaline to snatch her up before her first McKinley practice.
6. IDINA MENZEL
The Broadway diva played the part of Rachel's biological mother and Vocal Adrenaline coach, Shelby Corcoran, with the right amount of emotional detachtment and competitive spirit. With her striking resemblance to Lea Michele, their mother-daughter duets on ''I Dreamed a Dream'' and ''Poker Face'' were like gifts from the diva heavens, and have had us waiting for her return to the Broadway stage ever since.
5. JONATHAN GROFF
It was a Spring Awakening reunion when former costar Jonathan Groff became Lea Michele's new love interest Jesse St. James in season 1. Jesse transferred to McKinley midyear to join New Directions and be by Rachel's side, but it was his performances for rival Vocal Adrenaline (''Another One Bites the Dust,'' ''Bohemian Rhapsody'') that really impressed us. Yes, he was a hotshot (''UCLA. Ever heard of it? It's in California''), but he certainly could back it up. Oh, Jesse, raw eggs never hurt so bad.
4. KRISTIN CHENOWETH
As former McKinley queen bee April Rhodes, Chenoweth brought immense likability to the pint-size fallen diva who is partial to daytime wine and always happy to share shoplifting techniques. Even though having April join New Directions was a little weird, Chenoweth's voice is undeniable. Plus, she was the perfect bad influence the kids needed, if only for a day or two, just to prove they had what it takes to be cool.
3. GWYNETH PALTROW
Holly Holliday and her itinerant ways (''I never sign more than a month-to-month lease, I only eat off paper plates, I live on one night stands'') were a breath of fresh air compared with Mr. Schuester's Journey-only glee-club regime. Ms. Holliday encouraged the kids to pursue music they wanted to perform, and was enough of a goofball to jump in there with them. She tackled Rihanna, Chicago, and ''Forget You.'' So yes, Santana: She knows a little something about Cee Lo.
2. NEIL PATRICK HARRIS
Harris won an Emmy for his role as Bryan Ryan, Will Schuester's high school glee-club nemesis (back from a time when mullets were considered cool), whose glee-club days were far behind him — he went from King's Island performer to West Lima crack-district denizen (Ohio really needs to do something about this drug problem) — or so we thought. Highlights included a powerful ''Dream On'' duet with Matthew Morrison and the introduction of Ryan's show-choir conversion group (of which Brenda Castle is also a member).
1. DARREN CRISS
Perhaps the most anticipated guest star with the shortest rĂ©sumĂ©? A Very Potter Musical YouTube sensation Darren Criss joined the cast this season as Dalton Academy heartthrob Blaine, seamlessly entering the fold with his charm and great voice. An openly gay student, he serves as both a mentor and possible love interest for Kurt, but his rendition of Katy Perry's ''Teenage Dream'' — which is currently smashing sales records — would make anyone weak in the knees.

The 12 actors from the hit US musical series are reportedly set to appear on the TV contest's results show on Sunday, Dec. 5 during the semi-finals weekend.
Scheduled to make the trip is the full complement of the high school glee club New Directions -- Rachel, Finn, Mercedes, Kurt, Artie, Tina, Puck, Quinn, Santana, Mike, Brittany and Sam Evans.
Next Monday, Nov. 29, sees the release of 'Glee: The Christmas Album', with the cast's renditions of festive classics, among them 'O Holy Night', 'Jingle Bells' and 'Last Christmas'.

New Info on Cheyenne Jackson and Charice
Are we going to be seeing the return of the flawless Queen of the Philippines Charice on "Glee" as Sunshine soon? There is a new hint to be found in the newly-released preview pictures for the show's "Special Education" episode airing on November 30.
In the photo below we can see Cheyenne Jackson's character of Dustin Goolsby speaking to the Pedo. As some of you may remember from the "Audition" episode that aired earlier in the season, Charice was swooped up by Dustin to join Vocal Adrenaline after Lea Michele's Rachel Berry shunned her from the club and intentionally sent her to the wrong location in fear of getting replaced.
The one thing that is particularly interesting about this is that "Special Education" episode features Sectionals, and Vocal Adrenaline is really only competition at the Regional level.

More Spoilers for Special Education
The 'Glee' crew has been working hard all year to get back to Sectionals, and now New Directions are ready to take on their competition in Season 2, Episode 9 'Special Education.'
However, they'll be doing it without their beloved Kurt, who transferred to Dalton Academy in last week's episode, 'Furt.' He's a Warbler now, and will be backing up Blaine (Darren Criss) on the Train hit 'Hey, Soul Sister.'
Still, Kurt and Rachel will have their supreme diva moment when the two perform 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' from the musical production 'Evita.' Did you really think Kurt could just walk away in silence?
New Directions will also have some stiff competition from a senior singing group called The Hipsters, who will perform Mike and the Mechanics' song 'The Living Years.'
But, when Rachel finds out that Finn lost his virginity to Santana, she becomes emotionally distraught, giving Quinn and Sam the chance to prove that nobody puts baby (mamas) in the corner. The two will perform '(I've Had) The Time of My Life,' originally recorded by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, and featured in the 1987 film 'Dirty Dancing.'
The episode also features a rousing New Directions cover of Florence and the Machine's indie smash 'Dog Days Are Over,' and allows Santana the chance to shine with her rendition of The Zutons' 'Valerie.'
Check out the Season 2, Episode 9 'Special Education' song list below, and head over to AOL Radio's 'Glee' Radio to hear songs from past episodes.

Katie Couric Names 5 TV Hosts She'd Love to See On 'Glee'
Ricki Lake
Ricki Lake left quite a mark on the daytime television world with her now-departed "Ricki Lake Show" (she even had her own trademark audience chant: "Go, Ricki! Go, Ricki!"), but she got her start in movie musicals. Ricki made it big when she starred in the original version of "Hairspray" as the iconic Tracy Turnblad. How perfect would it be to have her join in for a few of the updated musical's tunes? Better yet, have a duet with "The Talk" co-host Marisa Jaret Winokur, who starred in the original Broadway cast as Tracy!
Jerry Springer
Who better to settle disputes and couple woes at McKinley High School than Jerry Springer? On second thought, let's just leave that to Ms. Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) as the other option could lead to some serious bloodshed. Instead, let's have Jerry, who appeared on "Dancing With the Stars" go toe to toe with Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.)!
Kelly Ripa
She's been known to sing and dance on "Live! With Regis and Kelly" (hello, she even did her own amazing rendition of "Thriller"!), plus Kelly Ripa has all the makings of "Glee" stunt casting. Perky? Check. Talented? Check. Blond? Check. Possible adorable love interest for Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison)? Check. Hey, it worked for Gwyneth Paltrow and Kristin Chenoweth!
Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg may spend her days with the ladies of "The View," but she is no stranger to theatrics. She's not only appeared on Broadway, but she's also sang and danced on-screen in movies, including both the beloved "Sister Act" flicks! "I Will Follow Him," revival with Mercedes (Amber Riley) anyone?
Oprah Winfrey
C'mon, how could we not BEG for Oprah Winfrey to appear on "Glee"? While we'd love for her to do just about anything on the show, we think she'd make for a wonderful MC/host of the upcoming sectionals. Just imagine her introducing the gang in her sing-songy manner, "Ladies and gentleman, New Direeeeeectiiiiiiiiiiions!"

Sneak Peek- Special Education The Garblers
"Glee" will reach a new milestone, the Sectionals, next week. New Directions heads to the big Sectionals competition to go head-to-head against the Warblers and the Hipsters. Kurt, so smitten by Blaine, has transferred to Warblers and the club is replacing him with a new girl.

'Glee' Bully May Never Come Out, Max Adler Says
McKinley High's resident bully Dave Karofsky is causing a whole lot of trouble on "Glee." Tuesday night's (November 23) episode was especially painful to watch, what with his creepy klepto move with Kurt's wedding-cake topper and that unbridled violence. It's enough to make us wonder: What the heck is going to happen to him?
Max Adler, the actor behind Karofsky, recently told MTV News he has some ideas about what might become of his character.
"He could join New Directions, he could be a glee-clubber," Adler offered. "Of course ... he will maybe think about suicide," he added. "Just because that's going on in the nation right now, but I don't know if they're going to touch on that and go that deep.
"I don't know if there is any redemption [for Karofsky]," Adler continued. "I don't know if he's ever going to come out. In high school, that's kind of your world and Karofsky's fear is for people to find out who he is."
The "Glee" star emphasized that as far as his character's arc is concerned, he really doesn't know what's in store but he's glad to be making an impact onscreen.
"I'm really just so thrilled to be able to play this part, and at this point in time in our nation and the world, even. I feel like I'm representing such a large group of people and it's a crucial time. I don't know where it's going to go. I want it to be a great message," Adler said. "I think I want him to have redemption and to eventually realize that people are tolerant and not prejudiced and there's no ignorance and that he can come out and feel safe. I think that would be a great message," he said hopefully. "But it depends where [creator] Ryan Murphy and all of them want to take him."

Darren Criss Bewildered by Kings of Leon, Gorillaz 'Public' Snubs
As Spinner has reported, a wave of bands like Gorillaz and Kings of Leon have been making a concerted and rather vocal protest to avoid their music appearing on 'Glee' -- Kings of Leon even told us they said no without having watched the show -- creating an artistic backlash against the immensely popular high school musical series.
As a new cast member who plays Kurt's potential love interest Blaine, and a real-life musician, Darren Criss sympathizes with the groups, but fails to see why they need to take such a public stance against the show.
"I'm a musician and I understand that; I don't think it's a bad thing. I just don't see why they feel the need to make it public," Criss tells Spinner.
Speaking at Rolling Stone's American Music Awards afterparty held at the magazine's brand new lounge and restaurant -- where he shared drinks with Katy Perry, Russell Brand, Jon Bon Jovi and 'Glee' cast members, including Mark Salling and Matthew Morrison (who strode in and out of the party with former 'N Sync member JC Chasez) -- Criss seemed bewildered at the idea that bands would use his show as a litmus test for coolness.
"It seems as if [being part of the show] could be a negative thing, the connotation is that they're somehow cooler than 'Glee.' I think that's their choice, and there doesn't need to be any kind of malice created from it."
"They've got the music, they've got nothing to prove," he added, diplomatically. "They're great bands."

Minor Superbowl Spoiler From Kristin
Production on the Glee Super Bowl episode begins tomorrow! Predictably, there will be a big focus on the football team in this ep, directed by Brad Falchuk himself. Look for at least two new jock characters: a tall good-looking football player named Strando, who might become a recurring character, and another athlete named Scott Cooper, who will be following in Puck and Karofsky's footsteps as the show's resident numbskull jock. Producers are also looking for BMX bike tricksters, fire-breathers and jugglers to shoot next week—sounds like they're planning a hell of a McKinley High halftime show. Do we get to vote who gets the wardrobe malfunction?

Will Kurt & Blaine Kiss?(spoilers)
If Kurt can smooch a sexually confused, bullying football player, surely he'll be locking lips with Blaine, right?
Not so fast, Gleeks…
"Not yet," Chris Colfer told me the other night at the GQ Men of the Year party when I asked about kissing Darren Criss.
He laughed, "I don't know, but I think maybe one gay kiss is enough for at least these 10 episodes. Maybe another one in the back nine wouldn't hurt."
Colfer also kinda confirmed that Criss will be following up his hit rendition of "Teenage Dream" with Train's "Hey, Soul Sister."
A Glee cast cover of the tune is already listed on Amazon.com, but the site notes it's not available yet.
"He does great with this one, too," Colfer smiled. "I want to tell you...OK, it's a famous one. It's on the radio quiet a bit...Okay, I'll give you a hint—choo-choo."

Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato on GLEE?
Michael Bublé, with girlfriend Luisana Lopilato, attended the 2010 American Music Awards after-party hosted by Rolling Stones.
Where Luisana meet "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy, a show which Michael and Lu are big fans. The Argentine girl asked him if there is any possibility for her and her boyfriend to guest-star on the show, even suggesting that she could play a foreign student from her home country, Argentina, and sing a song in spanish. Luisana is a well-known singer there, with a number of huge-hits songs. Murphy said he would love to have the happy couple in the show and an appearance is definitely a possibility in the future. And Michael's role? A judge in Nationals maybe?

Access Hollywood Live: Max Adler Proud Of His 'Glee' Gay Kiss
Max Adler is far from the bully he portrays on “Glee,” which is why he says he was “proud” to be part of the scene in which Chris Colfer’s character finally stands up for himself after being picked on for so long for being gay. Plus, was this Max’s first on-screen kiss ever?

Chord Overstreet's New Photo Shoot
Anne Hathaway Writes Herself a Part for 'Glee'
Anne Hathaway has written herself a part for 'Glee'.
The actress is such a huge fan of the musical TV show she has spent hours creating her own character which she thinks writer Ryan Murphy should consider including in the series.
The character the Hollywood star has devised would be the lesbian aunt of gay student Kurt Hummel - who is played by Chris Colfer.
Appearing on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' on Thursday (18.11.10), she revealed: "I would love to be on 'Glee'. Can I make a confession? In my head I've written a part for myself in 'Glee'! It's so arrogant and obnoxious, it's like, 'Ryan Murphy no one else wants to be on your show.' But in my head I've cast myself and I know which song I'd sing. I would want to play Kurt's long-lost aunt, his mother's sister who is also gay, who comes back to help him deal with his sexuality and I would sing 'No One Is Alone' from Stephen Sondheim's epic show 'Into the Woods'."
If the creators of 'Glee' do decide to take up Anne's story idea, she would not be the first big name star to get a cameo. Gwyneth Paltrow appeared as a Spanish substitute teacher in the episode which aired in the US this week and will be a short-term character, while Britney Spears had a brief appearance in a show dedicated to her during the current season.

Guess who's gonna be a regular on Glee now?
Glee fans have been asking for a while now whether a certain fan-favorite guest star will be promoted to series regular, and I just got the good news that he will! So who is it?
Reliable sources confirm that Harry Shum Jr.— also known as Mike Chang, also known as the hot "Other Asian" dancer with abs of steel—will become a series regular next season.
What this means is that yes, we'll be getting more ridonkulously good dance numbers from Harry (the fans go wild!) but also, sorry Artie, but it looks like your romantic rival might be all smooshy-wooshy with your girl Tina a while longer.
Like Heather Morris (Brittany) and Naya Rivera (Santana) before him, Harry started off in season one as a background player but has moved more into the forefront—scoring his first dancing duet last night with Matthew Morrison (Mr. Schue).

Darren Criss is NOT a series regular on 'Glee' yet
"The weird thing about that is, I hear it from all these different blogs and interviews. ... It's never really been officially confirmed to me," Criss told MTV News. "I think the option is there and that they want to keep Blaine around."
Matthew and Cory listed in People's Sexiest Man Alive
MATTHEW MORRISON
Mr. Shue, is that you? Glee's song-and-dance man showed what he's really made of in a revealing Vogue photo shoot in June. So what does the former Broadway star, 32, consider to be his sexiest trait? "I have those muscle lines right over my hips from my dancing days," Morrison told InStyle. "I call them my dancing lines."
Cory is listed in the "Sexy at Every Age" List:
CORY MONTEITH, 28
The 1988 Olympics may have put Calgary on the map, but it's also given us something else to cheer about – Glee's resident singing and dancing eye candy. "As much as he's a guy's guy, Cory fits in with the girls – with his sense of humor and quirkiness," his Monte Carlo costar Leighton Meester told InStyle.

Glee Bully 'Keeps The Mask On,' Max Adler Says
"[This] week [was] a little bit more minor," Adler said of his character's arc. "The week after that, November 23, the week of Thanksgiving is a pretty big one for Karofsky. I can't tell you too much, but I can tell you that his dad gets involved. His dad is called in, played by Daniel Roebuck, [who is] a great actor, a great guy. It all comes to a head."
"You do not deserve to be bullied at all," he tells young people in the clip. "I'll tell you a little secret: Most bullies are extremely insecure and want to knock you down a peg to feel better about themselves. So being who you are is what's awesome. It's what makes you special, interesting, fun to talk to, desirable."

Katy Perry: I love Darren Criss!
Katy Perry couldn’t be happier with “Glee’s” rendition of her hit, “Teenage Dream,” and new Gleek Darren Criss.
Access Hollywood caught up with the singer at the launch event for her new scent, “Purr,” on Tuesday in New York, where Katy gushed over the “Glee” newcomer.
“He’s amazing!” Katy told Access of Darren. “I love when any of my songs are remixed or interpreted differently. I just I love that, I really welcome a creative mind to anything.”
Following Darren’s “Glee” debut earlier this month, Katy Tweeted, “Oh…My…Gosh… this just brought a sweet tear to my eye! Teenage Dream on GLEE makes my heart go WEEEEE!”

New Spoilers From Kristin
Jenna: Darren Criss is perfection. Please tell me they've made him a series regular on Glee!
Ask and ye shall receive. According to an AfterElton.com interview today, Darren Criss is officially a regular ol' Glee kid now. (Can you hear the Hallelujah choir singing?!) "Darren has become such a sensation in one week, which I love," Ryan Murphy told the site. "I think there's a hunger for him and a positive relationship role model. He'll definitely continue through the year and longer. We just signed a deal with him, so I don't know." And just to double check, they specifically asked Ryan if Darren would be on for the rest of this season and the next, and Mr. M said "yes." As for whether Blaine will be Kurt's boyfriend, jury's still out, but I'd bet my pony on it.
Jenny: When are we going to see Jessalyn Gilsig back on Glee? I miss her!
We're right there with ya, but Terri Schuester will be back in the Glee fold soon enough, and get this—she may no longer be pining over Will! "Terri's going to develop a new relationship in a way that expected," Jessalyn tells us. "You're going to see her raw emotion and her pain a little bit more. She's really trying to [show a] softer side, and to see obviously what she did [in season one] was wrong."

Max Adler talks about shooting the kiss scene with Chris Colfer
"I just got the script like any other script. I had no clue what was going on," Adler told MTV News of not getting a heads-up from the writing staff or series creator Ryan Murphy. "I saw Ryan at the premiere, and he said, 'We just wrote some really good stuff for you for episode six,' and I was like, 'Oh, cool. Some more slushies?' " he laughed.
"And then I got the script, and I was reading that scene, and Kurt, he just doesn't let up," Adler said of the heated exchange between his character and Chris Colfer's Kurt. "He keeps on me and he keeps on me, and I thought, 'I'm going to punch him in the face. This is getting serious.' And then I turn the page, and it says: 'Karovsky kisses Kurt.' And I was like, 'What?' I jumped off the couch. I was as shocked as anybody else was. It was totally unexpected."
Adler said he and Colfer didn't discuss the scene beforehand; they just went for it.
"We just kind of showed up. I said [to Colfer], 'Hey, how are you doing? Ready to do this?' And he said, 'Yeah.' And the crew was really mature about it. No one was teasing or poking fun, everyone was really cool," Adler said. "And Chris was just great. He's probably the best actor I've worked with. He just gives so much and you connect with him in every take. As soon as we did the first few rehearsals, he said, 'I have a feeling this is going to be a pretty important scene.' I said, 'I'm kinda getting that vibe too.' And then we just did it and committed and focused. We didn't really talk to each other in between takes, kept our game faces on and went home for the night.
"So, yeah, first time I've kissed a guy, and I'm glad it was Chris Colfer!" Adler laughed.

Ryan Murphy talks about Kurt/Blaine
AfterElton: How many episodes is the anti-bullying story line going to be?
Ryan Murphy: I think it’s a whole year, actually. It’s not a couple episodes; it will probably be the whole season, actually, and the ramifications on everybody, which I think is important.
AE: How is Blaine going to play into that?
Murphy: I don’t know. We’re just writing him now. Darren has become such a sensation in one week, which I love. I think there’s a hunger for him and a positive relationship role model. He’ll definitely continue through the year and longer. We just signed a deal with him, so I don’t know.
AE: He’s confirmed to be a regular for the remainder of Season 2 and next season as well?
Murphy: Yes.
AE: Is Blaine going to be Kurt’s boyfriend?
Murphy: I don’t know. That I have not decided. We’re writing it. I want to see what people’s reaction to that is. Part of me thinks he should be the boyfriend, part of me thinks he should just be the mentor. I didn’t want to decide that until we got into sort of the middle of the season. We’re figuring it out now.
AE: If he doesn’t wind up becoming Kurt’s boyfriend, are we going to see Kurt have a boyfriend?
Murphy: Kurt will definitely get a boyfriend. The question is who will it be and how will it be.
AE: What was it about Darren Criss that initially appealed to you?
Murphy: He had auditioned and auditioned many, many times and I personally never saw his auditions. Then when we were casting, the casting director said, “You gave us many choices.” As soon as Darren came on and [I saw] his audition, I was like, “That’s the guy.”
AE: Had you seen Criss’ A Very Potter Musical before?
Murphy: No, I didn’t know anything about Darren. I just knew he was right.
AE: What do you think of his success of “Teenage Dream?” It's become Glee’s biggest hit yet.
Murphy: I’m proud of that. That’s our biggest-selling single ever in the history of the show and the fact that it’s one boy singing to another boy on a network television show and it’s a No. 1 song and it sold probably 200,000 copies in one week is a very profound thing that I’m personally very proud of.
I never expected that to happen. I’m catching up with the week that was and figuring out, OK, now we have this great commodity in something that people have really embraced. It just shows to me that people are hungry for that.
AE: Will there be a PSA at the end of the season for the Trevor Project? Have you considered that yet?
Murphy: I have not considered that; I do a lot of support work with the Trevor Project, but maybe I should. I think if we do it, we should just write it into the story instead of doing a PSA.

Latest from TV Guide Magazine
There's fake snow on the Glee set as the cast shoots its December 7 Christmas episode. At TV Guide Magazine's Hot List party, Lea Michele (Rachel) told me the cheery holiday hour centers on Brittany (Heather Morris) — who still believes in Santy Claus. Aww, how totally Brittany. When the glee club finds out, they take elaborate steps to ensure that she (everybody join in...) "Won't Stop Believin'." Sources tell me one friend will even dress up as Old Saint Nick to keep the dream alive (Coach Beiste, perhaps?). But lurking behind the chimney to destroy Brittany's childlike wonderment is that Grinch Sue Sylvester. The Christmas carol-filled hour will also feature Mercedes getting a green slushie thrown in her face and the blossoming of Brit's romance with Artie. The cast tells me this episode is sure to bring a tear to even the Scroogiest of viewers.

Lea Michele and Cory Monteith in Teen Vogue
Yet at their recent Teen Vogue interview, conducted over lunch at a favorite Los Angeles cafĂ©, the two stars demonstrated a winningly effervescent—and utterly un-fake-able—rapport.
lTeen Vogue: So, you guys have gone from relatively unknown to pretty ubiquitous in the past eighteen months, thanks to the success of Glee. Do you feel like you're finally getting everything you worked so hard for?
Cory Monteith: No. I don't feel like I was working toward this at all! I didn't even know that you could get paid to be an actor when I first started doing this.
Teen Vogue: How did you start?
Cory Monteith: You want to take this one, Lea? She's heard this story, like, 100,000 times.
Lea Michele: We've all heard each other's stories.
Cory Monteith: I'll make it quick. I was 20 years old, working as a roofer and a telemarketer and driving a taxi, just barely getting by. A friend of a friend suggested I try acting. I was like, "Why? What am I going to do? Community theater?" But I took a class, and the teacher thought that I had potential, so I moved to Vancouver and started auditioning. I slept on someone's floor. I brought, like, two shirts and two pairs of pants.
Teen Vogue: Why didn't you pack more pants?
Cory Monteith: I didn't own any! I was dirt-poor. I could barely hold down a job. Eventually, though, I started getting small parts on shows like Smallville, Supernatural . . . and lots of really bad sci-fi movies. I was running around the woods in wolf contacts, covered in fake blood made out of pancake syrup, roaring.
Lea Michele: Hybrid. Check it out.
Teen Vogue: Did you enjoy that?
Cory Monteith: I was, like, so stoked. But when the Glee audition came around, my manager literally had to talk me into it. I was petrified to sing in front of anyone.
Lea Michele: Fast-forward two years, he's on stage at Radio City, singing live in front of 6,000 people and, like, loving it.
Cory Monteith: Loving it.
Lea Michele: He's a rock star.
Teen Vogue: And Lea, was this a goal of yours?
Lea Michele: I didn't expect to be an actor either. But I went to an audition, and I got a job. After my first night on stage, I turned to my parents and said, "I love doing this—don't ever stop me." But I was very content; I figured that my life's path was to be a Broadway performer. I only came out to L.A. because, after Spring Awakening—
Cory Monteith: You were in Spring Awakening? Sorry. That's a joke.
Lea Michele: Whenever we do an autograph signing and someone says, "I loved you in Spring Awakening," he says, "You were in Spring Awakening?" So anyway—I didn't think there'd ever be a part that was fitting for someone who looked like me, who acted like me. I was just stepping away from Broadway for a few months, and then Glee came around. And it's really opened my eyes to this world of film and television and made me realize that maybe there's a place for me.
Teen Vogue: Has it been difficult to bring in new cast members, like Chord Overstreet [who plays Sam]?
Cory Monteith: All of the girls on the show like Sam.
Lea Michele: He's a hottie.
Cory Monteith: And I think, for the most part, we've been welcoming. There's hasn't been any hazing or anything.
Teen Vogue: You guys seem very close—is it strange to play boyfriend and girlfriend on TV?
Lea Michele: We're such good friends that we've passed that level of weirdness. Cory farts in front of me.
Teen Vogue: And your boyfriend doesn't get jealous? About the kissing, I mean.
Lea Michele: Mine? Or Cory's? [laughs] My boyfriend [American Idiot star Theo Stockman] is an actor as well. So he understands.
Teen Vogue: Cory, are you seeing anyone?
Cory Monteith: No.
Lea Michele: Not like he would tell us.
Teen Vogue: He wouldn't even tell you?
Lea Michele: No.
Cory Monteith: I stay private about that stuff. I don't want to be like, "I'm seeing this girl . . ."
Lea Michele: And then we'd be like, "What happened to that sweet girl?"
Cory Monteith: Exactly.
Teen Vogue: So you were this way even before you were famous.
Cory Monteith: Yes.
Teen Vogue: Did either of you have high school sweethearts?
Lea Michele: I did. We're still good friends. We were together for a very long time.
Cory Monteith: Mine was in junior high. We couldn't hang out at her parents' house, so we hung out in this big field, underneath a willow tree. That's where we were the first time we made out. It was beautiful, tall grass and all that, but it was on the side of a highway, so people were honking their horns at us.
Teen Vogue: There've been so many rumors about various cast hookups.
Lea Michele: Oh, we've all gotten down and dirty. It's, like, nasty. We can't keep our hands off each other.
Cory Monteith: It's borderline disgusting.
Lea Michele: Raunchy. No, I hate to be boring, but we're just friends. I think Mark and Naya dated for a little while. . .
Teen Vogue: Yes, the key incident.
Lea Michele: And now it's the key incident. I have no idea.
All I have to say is that it was nice when they were together.
Teen Vogue: Gossip about your love lives must be one of the strange things that you've had to get used to this year.
Cory Monteith: I see the people in the tabloids, the ones that get bad press, who have kind of gone off the edge, and I try to study them so that I don't do that. It seems like they lost focus at some point—that's the one thing they all have in common. The beauty of this show is that it's impossible for us to do that. We work 24/7/365. And I love it.
Lea Michele: And I think that we have a really wonderful kind of fame. These days you can become famous for a lot of things, but ours comes from being part of something that's so important.
Cory Monteith: It's hard to disagree with the effect that Glee has on people. Even if it's not your cup of tea, it's really hard to get negative about a show that's [about] singing and dancing and that makes people smile.
Lea Michele: There is some bad stuff that comes with this kind of popularity. But no matter what's going on in my life, the next thing I know, we're jumping on mattresses, having slushies thrown at us—or just having fun with each other. It really does make everything OK.
